"We're Going To Pump You Up!" - 9/23/20

Yesterday was my 3rd post-op appointment with Dr Hulsen, my plastic surgeon. He said everything is healing up great and he was very pleased with how I looked. He wasn’t very pleased however, when I told him how much I tried to do last week and simply gave me a “ you are just 3 weeks out....take it easy!” all the while Tim sat in the chair to my right with a big “ I told you so” smile on his face!

Then Dr Hulsen said “are you ready for a fill?” which I hesitantly responded to him with a “ I guess” and he left the room to go get his stuff. He and his nurse came in with 6 of the hugest syringes filled with saline and I just looked at Tim like 😳 and tried not to panic. Since my skin is numb, I didn’t feel anything at all and as he started, Dr Hulsen looked at me and said “We’re going to pump you up!” And he got a good laugh out of Tim and I.

We left the office and I was thinking “that wasn’t that big of a deal!” I can do that without any issues”....but as I sat last night watching TV, my thoughts changed as my body was feeling the change and I hurt, but have been told it will get better as my skin adjusts. My Next “pump me up “ session is next Thursday and then we just will go every other week or so until I am happy with how things look.

This is quite a journey and process. My Care team is wonderful and I am so happy with each of them. They each have made this nightmare of a journey a little easier because they have each said “trust me” and we have yet to be steered in the wrong direction.
