THIS IS BREAST CANCER! This is the reality of it. Scars, implants, medications, and more! I sit here today 4 dpo, bruised, swollen and sore, but I am a survivor! I am part of an amazing sisterhood and am proud to wear pink! As we start Breast Cancer Awareness Month we celebrate all of the warriors, survivors, previvors, thrivers, metavivors, and the brave men and women who finished their fight! But we need more! We need earlier intervention and earlier screening! We need more research! We need more to end this horrible disease that will affect 1 in 8 women! Please, if you haven’t had your annual mammogram, schedule it. Do your self-exam, and if you sense something is not right, push to have it checked even if you are told “it’s nothing to worry about” or “you are too young”. We are our best advocates!
