Staying Busy & Cleared for Surgery

I went this morning for lab work, an EKG, and a "visit" with the Nurse Practitioner at my PCP's office so they would clear me for surgery. I got the green light so things are moving forward. Now we just wait until we hear from the Pre-Op Team about my COVID test/quarantine and then it's on to surgery day on 8/31.
I spent the weekend trying to stay busy. Saturday, I went and watched my niece Sophie in the Kirkwood Hunter/ Jumper Horse Show at the National Equestrian Facility in O'Fallon, MO. The event was held outside to allow for social distancing which was nice otherwise I wouldn’t have gone. The weather was warm but we sat under some shade trees and watched her slay the ring. Check out her ribbon haul!!! Champion on Saturday with a ton of ribbons and a Reserve Champion yesterday! This was her last time riding Constellation Lyra (the horse she has been training on since this winter) as she will be moving on to a larger horse that will make higher jumps. I had a great time watching her and love seeing her do her "thing". Sunday was spent doing my regular Sunday stuff (grocery store, laundry, stuff around the house) and just trying to get things taken care of before surgery. I made a special trip to Target to stock up on my favorite Tru Fru frozen raspberries that are covered in white/dark chocolate. They are tough to find so I bought myself FIVE bags which should last me for a while.
That's about all for now.....probably won't update until right before surgery! If you didn't see the post on Friday, my sweet best friend Betsy Miller set up a Mealtrain for Tim, the boys and I to help out with dinners while I'm home.
