I've Been Keeping a Secret - 12/6/21

I’ve been keeping a secret, and now I can share it... While navigating my journey with breast cancer for the past 18 months, I’ve felt compelled to somehow & some way to make a difference, even if it is a tiny one.

In October, the opportunity to submit my story to Wildfire Magazine, a magazine written by and for women with Breast Cancer, came up. Knowing that I am on the “older side” of their target audience, I wasn’t sure if my submission would even be selected and was pleasantly surprised when I received an email in early November letting me know that they wanted to include my story in their next issue. I am proud and honored to say that MY story about how “Love, Lizard” came to be is one of the stories in the upcoming edition of Wildfire titled CHANGEMAKERS that will be digitally released on 12/11 and in print a few weeks later.

To be in the company of the other 20 inspiring writers, all of us considered #changemakers, is quite humbling and something that I will cherish forever as a breast cancer warrior.
