Here We Go! - 7/17/2020

We want to know what we are dealing with, get as many of OUR questions answered before we start telling anyone including the boys, our families, and our friends. So in between work stuff, I spent the morning on Friday reaching out to a few friends on a Mom's Board I am a part of who have been through this before (all 3 women have recently finished their treatments) to get some encouragement and reassurance that I will be okay.

Calls were made to my OBGYN to get his take on who to see, a text sent to a friend at Mercy to see if she knew of any of the Drs that I was given who were at Mercy and then I started making phone calls. Our first appointment is scheduled for Wednesday, 7/22 with a surgeon at St. Lukes in their Women's Center. Depending on the outcome of that, we will either move forward with her or hold off until we meet with the 2nd Surgeon who is at Mercy. Our plan for the weekend is to just stay busy. The boys both have baseball tournament games so we'll be running to those and we will need to do all the other STUFF that we do on the weekend (laundry, grocery shopping, and other chores). Still can't believe that it's us. I keep on thinking that all of this is just a bad dream (COVID and now cancer) and that we'll wake up and it will be gone but then I quickly realize that it's not.
