I’m home and resting comfortably. As Tim said in his post on Tuesday, my surgery went very well according to my OB with minimal complications and blood loss. 👏🏼👏🏼

We got home yesterday around 2pm after I got the green light to be discharged when my bladder started working in its own after my catheter was removed. (This was even more of a concern for me more than the surgery itself due to my track record with my bladder not wanting to wake up after surgeries). I took a super long nap when we got home and felt fairly good last night. My pain has been tolerable and is being managed by our Tylenol and Motrin cocktail that works well for me. Coughing sucks as does trying to roll over in bed but I’m managing. 💪

I’m just glad to have that procedure behind me. We have now done everything that we can do to reduce the estrogen levels in my body that could possibly help feed any rogue cancer cells that could still be floating around. I will start my new medication, an aromatase inhibitor in a few weeks (aka AI) that will work against the enzyme aromatase that is produced by my body and found in skin, fat, muscle and breast tissue. We’re hoping that the side effects that I have with this new medication will be minimal but only time will tell. 🤞

Now I just rest and take it easy for a week or so and continue to plug away and live my new life as Libby 2.0. The only other planned surgical procedure that I will be doing is some revision work on my reconstructed chest due to not being happy with some rippling that I have and overall discontent with initial results. I was hoping to have that done sooner rather than later and before Summer Vacation but the hysterectomy kind of trumped that and we had to delay it.

Thank you to everyone for your love and support. It means a lot to Tim, the boys and me.
