Clear & Clear! - 9/8/20

We just got home from my Drs appointments and got some great news - the sentinel nodes were clear and the margins were clear! Talk about music to our ears. No additional surgery necessary. We were told Stage 1a based on the initial tumors and their sizes etc. Pathology also showed some other things that I won’t bore you with but the decision to do the bilateral mastectomy was the right one otherwise we would have been back doing the left side sometime in the near future according to Dr Martin.

Dr Martin said she will present my case to the “Tumor Review Board” next Monday where an oncology team will put their heads together and decide what the best recommendation is for treatment going forward.

On top of hearing CLEAR, I was able to have 2 of the 4 drains removed when we went to see Dr Hulsen (not as horrible of an experience as I was prepared for). He said everything is healing well and he was pleased with how I looked. I told both Drs that I got out of my PJs for them today so it was a big day for me.

We are headed to the Chiropractor in a bit to see if he can help with my headaches. They seem to get worse in the late afternoon/ evening and with ice on my neck I can sleep through the night.
