A Weekend of Goodies - 8/23/20

I know last week I said I probably wouldn’t post until closer to surgery day but I’ve had such an awesome weekend that I have to share. 1st yesterday I got the awesome care package from The Gracie Foundation (see yesterday’s post) and then a package came late yesterday afternoon that had me in tears. As you may or may not know, I work for a small but quickly growing real estate firm called Trophy Properties and Auction. I have been the “Office Manager” for the past 6 years and enjoy what I do and who I work with. We are licensed in 4 states and have 45 agents spread out throughout MO, IL, IA & KS. Most of our agents I see only once or twice a year if they are not local but I work for them on a regular basis. Well yesterday a package arrived with this awesome pink stainless coffee cup that is personalized for me along with a sweet note from the sender. It was from one of our agents Cody, who lives in Effingham IL. I have only known Cody for about a year and he said since learning about my diagnosis, he felt compelled to do something for me. He owns a laser engraving company so the cup was his gift to me along with a little something to treat ourselves dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Joey B’s. 👍🏼

Then this afternoon, the doorbell rings and our neighbor from across the street says that he received a box that had my name on it but his address and he figured it was mine and not his.....but when he saw where it was from, he wasn’t quite sure if he wanted to give it up! Insomnia Cookies!!! 🍪 Oh yum! Thanks to my awesome big sister for the long distance hug! I’m going to have to fend off the 3 men in our home to make sure I get more than one. 😁
